CareLumi Closes Oversubscribed $2.5M Pre-Seed Round to Build the Verification Layer for Healthcare AI
Funding will help healthcare organizations protect patient safety, keep providers ready to practice, and verify the AI and tools used in healthcare's administrative and clinical workflows

CHICAGO, Oct. 28, 2026 – CareLumi, the Verification Layer for Healthcare AI, today announced the close of an oversubscribed $2.5 million pre-seed round led by Izou Partners. Fifth Star Funds, Longjump Ventures, Wellforge, SCS Innovations, University of Chicago Booth, Illinois DCEO, and Chicago Early Growth Ventures also participated.
There is a national shortage of medical providers. Patients wait for care while a qualified provider waits months to be verified, licensed, enrolled to bill insurance, and privileged to access a healthcare facility.
The healthcare workforce is burned out. Medical Services Professionals (MSP), providers, billing and compliance teams want AI to handle the administrative work so they can focus on patient safety and the judgment calls only they can make. But when AI gets something wrong, patients, health system presidents, CEOs, and CIOs all ask the same question: who is accountable?
AI is entering healthcare fast, and we know it can do the work. But healthcare organizations must be able to prove the output is correct, because these decisions determine whether a patient receives treatment, a clinician can practice, and a facility is paid.
CareLumi audits the AI, automated workflows, and software that healthcare organizations already use across administrative and clinical work, logging and checking every action taken by people and AI. Rogue or non-compliant activity is stopped, mistakes are flagged and fixed, and any failure is traced to where it happened and who is accountable.
The company serves health systems, staffing and locum agencies, group practices, management services organizations, digital health platforms, and solo providers.
The funding will help CareLumi get providers to patients sooner and make sure the AI used across healthcare's administrative and clinical work is verified.
